Has used Mad Rock Rovers for about a year and a half of climbing.
Their first shoe was the Rover and they're a fan; after 7-8 months indoors there are holes in both toes.
Recommends the Rover as a beginner shoe: generous rubber, comfortable enough to keep on all session half a size up.
Their Rovers, bought two sizes big as a beginner, have expanded significantly with lots of space at the toes.
On their second pair of Rovers and loves them for a Roman-ish foot, sized one up from street and climbing around 6C+.
A huge fan of the Rover for relatively wide toes: the most comfortable shoe they've owned with excellent all-round performance.
Has had Rovers for about two years with wide feet: very comfortable for whole 1-3 hour sessions, relatively soft so not great edging, really good smearing once broken in, and performed well even bouldering on granite; great budget shoe.
Loving the Rovers in street size, tight but comfortable; nice heel and toe hooks, and the rubber got stickier after two sessions.
Recently bought Rovers and they seem to be wearing away very fast, unsure if they're defective.
Barely noticed any wear on their Mad Rock Rovers in 6 months of climbing at 90+ kg; only stopped wearing them because the fit wasn't right.
Their Drones were durable, but their Rovers were not really.
Has climbed multiple 5.12s in the Rover: stiff, sticky, lots of rubber and a good price.
Loves their Mad Rock Rovers: affordable, great rubber and comfortable for all-day climbing.
Bought the Rover a full size above street size and by the fourth session it was far too big, with dead space in the toe box hurting their edging; would go no more than half a size up.
“I was convinced to buy these at +1 greater than street shoe and by session 4, they were way too big for me. The dead space in the toe box was preventing me from edging on small feet already.”
