Says BD ropes are fair at best: their 9.9 (and a 9.4) got mushy with a very frayed sheath in just a season and pig-tailed badly, though they did get through the season.

Their 9.9 mm BD rope, used as a backup gym rope, showed a massive flat spot and blown sheath after about 25 hours of mostly endurance climbing; they have never seen a rope wear out that fast and filed a warranty claim.
Has only had good experiences with BD ropes; they just climbed El Cap on the same 9.9 model and it still looks almost new.
