A fan of the Veloce, owning both men's and women's; the women's has a narrower profile and lower-volume heel.

The Instinct S was very stiff under the forefoot and crushed their big toe to the point of injury.
Recommends the Remora Pro HV: really good heels, soft and sensitive for smearing, and surprisingly good on small edges.
Got about 6 months from their Drago LVs before a hole, but always had an air gap in the heel.

most new reviewsBought the 2026 Zenist LV in the same size as their Phantom Pro LV and the heel was ginormous.
Owns Evolv Phantom Pro LVs and they fit fantastically; their stiff pair for outdoors and boards.
Uses the Vapor S as their soft shoe; the heel still feels nice after about 10 sessions.
Uses the So iLL Catch a lot as a crack and slab slipper: stiff for cracks but soft for slab and all-day trad, though the shoe's life is short.
Their Scarpa Vapor V had essentially no sensitivity and was miserable for smearing.
Likes the Zenist Pro as well: softer than either Phantom, somewhat like a Skwama, with a taller heel.
Phantom Pros are wider in the toe box with a softer toe patch and upper than the Phantoms, so quite a bit more comfortable.
Loves the Arpia V as their second pair: comfortable as hell and still performs well; resoled twice and fine.
Got Instinct VSRs at street size with virtually no break-in despite being aggressive; meaningfully better than previous shoes.
Has the Gomi and it's actually one of the widest, baggiest heels of all the shoes they regularly wear.
Remora Pro LV gives a good fit for their narrow heel, though not as close as the D2.ONE LV.
Loved the D2.ONE LV for a long time; one of the best fits for their narrow, shallow heel.
Loves the Instinct VSR LV and has owned a couple of pairs; a runner-up to the Zenist Pro LV for their very narrow heel.
Sized Dragos two sizes smaller than their Instincts and they feel fantastic; the soft material stretches around their foot.
With wide, thick feet the Instinct VS was a massive pain to break in and still hurts their big toes.
Owns Scarpa Drago XT and finds them on the softer side compared to Solutions.
On granite and basalt the rubber lacks stickiness, heats up fast and gets worse through the session; soft, imprecise and doesn't breathe.
Has a pair of So iLL Torques and finds them fantastic.
Absolutely loves their Drone CS LV for extremely narrow heels and toe box: soft yet supportive.
Prefers a GRIGRI plus Reverso; the Reverso is a great rappel device with guide mode for belaying off anchors and ascending a rope, and handles double ropes.
